While there are no federal laws banning the manufacturing, sale, possession, or use of laser / LIDAR jammers, some states have implemented their own laws regulating laser jammers. Nine states and Washington, DC have made laser jammers illegal; their legality is debated in Nebraska; and forty states have no laws of record regarding laser jammers.
